We are proud to announce our strategic partnership with D-Robotics (Digua Robotics). The Looper Insight 9 is now powered by the Sunrise 5 (RDK X5) platform. We selected this platform specifically for its core competency: Built-in NPU, providing massive AI computing power.
Visual SLAM is a complex process requiring massive parallel computation. Running such tasks on a general-purpose CPU is highly inefficient. By integrating D-Robotics’ BPU® (Bayes) architecture, the Insight 9 offloads these dense mathematical operations to a dedicated 10 TOPS neural processor.
This hardware-software integration allows the Insight 9 to execute Depth Map Calculation, Dense Feature Extraction, and Loop Closure entirely on the edge. The result is a sensor that consumes just 5W of power while providing your robot with a stable, global map of its environment.
For developers, the value is clear: Plug in the device, and your Localization problem is instantly “Solved”—allowing your host computer to focus on higher-level autonomous decision-making and interaction.
